Portable Fire Equipment Servicing

Keep your portables compliant and ready

The right gear, in the right place, every time

When a fire starts, seconds matter. Your first-attack equipment is the gear you can grab and use immediately. Critical Fire keeps that equipment ready to perform by selecting and positioning it to AS 2444 and maintaining it on schedule to AS 1851.

Portable Fire Equipment Servicing

Fire Extinguishers

Stop small fires before they grow - fires double in size every 30 seconds. We supply, install, test and maintain portable and mobile fire extinguishers so your site stays safe and compliant to AS 2444.

  • Site assessment and selection to AS 2444, including correct type, size and location

  • Supply and installation with brackets, signage, covers and accessories

  • Routine Service to AS 1851

    • Six-monthly inspection, test and service tagging

    • Annual checks and service records

    • Five-year pressure test and refill or replacement as required

  • Digital asset records with barcoding, photos and clear reports that stand up to scrutiny

Dry Chemical Powder (ABE & BE), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Wet Chemical, Water, Foam, Battery Fire Extinguishers (Lithium Battery Fires) and Class D Fire Extinguishers.
Mobile (Wheeled) extinguishers such as Dry Chemical Powder, Carbon Dioxide and Foam.

The right extinguishers in the right places, maintained on schedule with minimal disruption and full compliance.

Fire Hydrants and Hose Reels

Keep water where and when you need it. We inspect, test, service and repair hose reels and hydrant systems to AS 1851, with clear records and minimal disruption.

  • Fire hose reels and cabinets, (fixed and swing out type) to AS 2441
  • Hydrant landing valves, booster valve inlets, isolation valves to AS 2419
  • Ring mains, tanks and pumps that supply hydrants
  • Signage, brackets, nozzles and hoses
  • Six-monthly inspection and functional testing to AS 1851

  • Annual flow and pressure tests for reels and hydrants using calibrated testers

  • Five-year hydrostatic testing, landing valve / booster inlet overhauls and replacements as required

  • Fault finding, repairs, upgrades and replacement of damaged or missing parts

  • Digital asset registers, service tags and compliance reports

Hose reels are for firefighting only. Using them for cleaning can attract fines and may reduce performance in an emergency. We identify misuse and provide practical guidance to keep equipment service-ready. Hydrants are for fire brigade use only. Use by un-trained personnel can lead to injuries.

Reliable water supply and pressure, fewer failures and strong compliance across your site.

Fire Blankets

Fire blankets are a simple, fast way to smother small Class F fires and clothing fires. We select, locate, install and maintain fire blankets so they are easy to reach and ready to deploy.

  • Selection and placement to AS 2444, including correct size for risk areas, (including signage).

  • Twice yearly inspection to AS 1851

    • Check location, accessibility and signage

    • Inspect container and instructions, confirm tag and records

    • Verify blanket condition and correct folding

  • Replacement after any use or if damaged

  • Service tags and clear reports, aligned with your extinguisher and hose-reel schedule

  • Conspicuous and readily accessible position

  • Along the path to an exit or adjacent to the risk, without creating hazard to the user
